Permanent URI for this collection
A comprehensive collection consisting primarily of sound files (WAV) in sara Lu'a (Palu'e, ISO 639-3 ple). Palu'e Island is located near the north coast of Flores, Lesser Sunda Islands, Nusa Tenggara Timur province, Indonesia. The collection consists of narratives in the wide sense, with a focus on folk tales, followed by a type of ethnomedicine . There are also songs, ritual language, weaver interviews and more, including a number of video clips. Several items are used as references in research articles. With time-aligned transcripts and translations (ELAN annotations, EAF-files). Most recordings are of single narrators, and more than half of those were recorded mono with an AT2020 mic,. In the collection these recordings are doubled (L & R) for listening convenience. Stereo recordings are also numerous, done with the H4N Zoom built-in mics, only a few recordings were made with a Lavalier mic. If annotations align poorly with the sound, try to left-align with left arrow and fn or command.
