MLGBTQ Kupuna Oral History Project

Ten interviews with Kūpuna who identify as māhū, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer, who came of age during the height of the Hawaiian sovereignty movement as well as the larger fight for LGBTQ civil rights in the 1990s. They talk about their experiences and reflect on the significance of being Hawaiian and “gay” simultaneously and the struggles they faced.
