This item includes a segment of a student interview in a Writing Intensive course in a sophomore honors seminar at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. The interview was conducted in 2014, and in this clip the interviewee is responding to the question 'Were your relationships with classmates, the campus, Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi, or the Pacific changed in any way? Do you see your major or your educational experience any differently as a result of it?'
Brief excerpt from interview: The people I worked with on this project are still friends and collaborators today. As far as relationships with faculty it really made me realize that the people who support you and mentor you are really the people who are the stepping stones into your next phase in life or down your path... Professor Cusick was definitely that with this course for me... I see it not just as personal passion, but what I learned in this course will definitely matriculate to my children and I hope will instil passion in them to continue.
