Students were observed through verbal expression, attitudes, opinions and actual behavior to measure the socio-economic values of Samoan youth in Hawaii.Item type: Item , Attempts to determine the blood groups of aboriginal inhabitants of the Marianas and Hawaiian Islands by serological study of their bones(University of Hawaii at Manoa, 1953) Harris, Sarah Ellen NyeThe scope of this present investigation involves determination of the blood groups of 165 individual skeletons from the Marianas and Hawaiian collections of the Bernice P. Bishop Museum, by using Candela's modification of the agglutination test (1939). It Is a complicated variation of the routine "agglutination” test used in grouping blood cells of living people. Also examines attempts to devise a new and simpler technique, based upon the principle of the "precipitation" test, well known to serologists, which has not been applied successfully as yet in the determination of blood groups of bones.Item type: Item , The ecological distribution of certain central Pacific atoll benthic algae(University of Hawaii at Manoa, 1956) Gilmartin, Malvern, Jr.This paper focuses on the Central Pacific, where atolls make up the largest percentage of the land mass. Various workers have suggested that many of the physical features of an atoll are due to the growth of its benthic algae.
