Abstract
Welina. The work in this thesis are the results of graduate fiction and poetry workshops at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa's Department of English. Definitions of terms used in this work are available in English, Hawaiian, Pidgin, and Urban dictionaries. The proverbs paired with subject headings in this introduction are from Hawaiian Proverbs and Poetical Sayings compiled by Mary Kawena Pukui. The concept of the title, SEX HAIR, alludes to procreation. I was taught since childhood that hair is sacred in Asian and Pacific cultures because it connects us to our ancestors.
