Abstract
Description
Genre: Oral history. Lunda Pisane tells about Nua Ngaji(-ne), an awesome witch from the Kéli domain. He also compares with Lobi (pisane). Both of them lived not so long ago, perhaps until the 1980s, and Lobi is an uncle of my former host Wongga Lutene. Nua was invulnerable to fire, machetes, arrows. He had the task to take care of the ceremonial buffalo. He obtained the medicine to keep buffalo calm just by holding and raising a plate in his hands. Recorded by Pitu Sopune (Ebbe) in kampong Mata mere 18 June -18, with the HN1 Zoom recorder and the AT2020 microphone.either at Ebbe's place or at Lunda's, he is a neighbour. Lunda himself is a grandfather, carpenter, and a healer. Transcribed by Toka Ichal as an assignment of the FEL supported project to teach ELAN to Palu'e youth, practicing directly on yet unannotated recordings. Edited and translated by SD.
