Genre: Fairy tale. Title: Bapak Mumbu (c. 60, father-in-law of Ebbe Pidu) tells a fairy tale with mythical elements, and about the origins of a clan in Lio. At a farming ceremony lakimosa (adat leader) Lero sees a stranger, a beautiful woman, and her friends. He follows her to the sea, where she puts on her hish skin (the 'Sara' fish) and disappear. They returt again, the same thing happens (it is a three day event in the village), but the woman does not find her skin by the beach. She is left alone. However, Lero marries her, and they have a child. Later one day the mother finds the skin and disappears into the sea again, to again live as a sara fish. There exists Lionese people on mainland Flores, Lio, that do not eat the sara fish. The tale is likely from Lio. Recorded in Bapak Pui's house, Mata mere 31 Jan 2015 in the afternoon by SD with the AT2020 mic. Sitting with Mboe, Yuli, Methi and a few kids from the neighbouring houses.
