dc.description.abstractThis paper attempts to present a study of the Netherlands-Indonesian controversy over West New Guinea. It traces the roots of the conflict to historical, cultural, and racial factors and examines the struggle for Independence during the 1945-1949 period, then discusses various attempts to solve the issue.
