dc.descriptionBlended learning is a set of curriculum design and teaching practices emphasizing the appropriate use of technology for the presentation of material outside of class time combined with the focused use of valuable class time for learner interaction. In blended learning design for world languages, pre-class materials for the learner present the learner with new language material to absorb and practice independently, while in-class materials support the teacher’s organization of focused interactive practice, with an emphasis on communication. This publication, CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES FOR BLENDED LEARNING IN BEGINNING CHINESE, focuses on in-class activities for beginning learners of Chinese. In 20 lessons, each featuring several sets of PowerPoint slides, in-class learning activities comprising many foundational language structures in Chinese are presented in a classroom-ready format.
