Brief excerpt from interview: Emotions are a big part [of writing]. It took me maybe a day or two days [to write this poem]. It was kind of hard to write about my father and brother's relationship... I didn't know if I wanted to talk about that, but I did eventually.

This item includes a segment of an a student interview in a Writing Intensive course in English at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. The interview was conducted in 2014 and in this clip the interviewee is reflecting on the connection between emotions and writing.
