dc.description.abstract The purpose of this report is to identify and analyze the legalities of investment seminars in Hawaii, using as an example an investment seminar which was recently advertised and conducted in Honolulu. The term "investment seminars" refers to public presentations which advocate what may best be called get-rich-quick investments. In this paper, I will first identify several techniques used at investment seminars by investment promoters. Second, I will identify the different investment presentations that are practiced. Third, I will identify the legal regulations of investment seminars which I was able to locate. Fourth, I will use a recent investment seminar in Hawaii as an example of the presentation style and the application of legal regulations. It is hoped that through this process of studying the legalities of investment seminars, public awareness of its rights and protections against deceptive and misleading presentations will result in confident and strong investments which will lead to a strong economy.
