dc.description.abstractBrief excerpt from interview: It was part of my Sustainability Awareness major, through the Interdisciplinary Studies program . . . combined with previous Film credits to produce 'Sustainability Awareness and Visual Media' . . . I went straight from high school to San Francisco State University, came back to the University of Hawai'i to take Film classes . . . never really focused, never declared a major . . . got a job on Lost, the tv show . . . kind of dropped out, did poorly my last semester . . . the film industry work was high stress, long hours, inconsistent work . . . I decided to come back t school . . . wanted something ocean-based, I'm from Hawai'i and love the ocean . . . didn't have the credits for Oceanography or Marine Biology . . . I was hooked by the title of this course--Renewable Energy--that's a hot topic . . . and it is something that we need for sustainable living
