dc.description.abstract Composers: Creators of musical works and communicators of the tonal language. Those who are proclaimed "musical genius" and granted "immortality" in history through the perpetuation of their works in various types of media and in the educational institutions. In musical educational curricula that canonize the great composers from Ancient Greece through the Early Twentieth Century time periods. the question remains: "Where are all the women?" This study explores this question through a review of literature, interviews and an examination of musical works. The culmination of this project has been the creation of four original DVDs and bringing the stories of selected women composers to life.
