Abstract

Protein differences between fungal conidiophore and mycelial cells were studied by gel electrophoresis. No qualitative differences were found among proteins focused according to molecular Lueight and pi. Slight quantitative differences showed that the proportions of various synthesized proteins may be related to the function of the cell. The lack of major variations in protein composition indicate that the cell wall is the structure most affected by the mycelium to conidiophore transformation.
