Abstract
The study attempts to identify L2 learners’ pragmatic needs in a university EAP program, as well as the ways that EAP needs could be incorporated into the current curriculum. First, needs analysis were conducted through interview and survey data from students, teachers, and administrators. Also, based on identified target tasks from needs analysis, assessment tasks were developed. The procedures of assessment tasks development are discussed in detailed and it further suggests possible ways to develop EAP task-based pragmatic assessment.
