dc.description.abstract The conidiogenous genus Briania is described as new with a single species, Briania fruticetum. Major characters of the Hawaiian fungus are erect setiform, branched phialophores formed in mycothickets on the surface of living leaves. The associated teleomorphic genus is Meliolina.
