Abstract

Description

Genre: Medicine/huru: Lucia Sugo (Majune), kampong Kaju keri, tells about her 'huru ra' ("huru coral", symbolising teeth). Symptoms are constant and worsening tooth ache, until the teeth wiggle. She did not tell if this 'huru' is also a curse hung in the plantation to protect the fruits and that causes this certain affliction. Sugo chews betel (sirih pinang), 'seku' (BI. kencur) and corn together and then applies the mixture on the aching teeth (outside mouth?). Recorded by Pidhu Sophune at her home 4 Nov - 15 in the afternoon with the H4N Zoom. With grandchildren (or grandchildren of her brothers and sisters) Ista, Riz, Wera Pajine.
