This paper presents a theoretical framework for understanding the embezzlement scheme perpetrated by Tom Girardi, a prominent Los Angeles attorney. By integrating convenience theory, game theory, and social network theory, we develop a comprehensive model that explains how Girardi was able to execute and benefit from the scheme while minimizing the risk of detection. The framework considers the interplay of legal, financial, and personal relationships within Girardi's social network and the convenience factors that facilitated the scheme's success. We argue that this multi-theoretical approach provides valuable insights into the complex dynamics of white-collar crime and can inform future research and policy efforts to prevent and detect similar cases.
