Genre: Medicine/huru: Tia Kelene, captain Din's mother, was recorded 4 July 2015 in the morning by Pidhu (Ebbe) using the H4N Zoom, one of his first recording sessions. She told three 'huru' (curse-prohibition-disease and cure), in this file 'pathe' (plant) and 'muku' (banana). Huru muku: muku (wakane 5, banana root), kaliraga, somu (red onion), sunga (garlic), lea (ginger). Curse. Symptoms: swollen limbs, swollen stomach, diarrhea, yellow face. Cure: chew and apply on belly and elsewhere. Siko ritual, tebha siwe, pour small young coconut water over to of head. Patient pays with money or chicken. (Bhulu wa’o unmentioned). Huru pathe: Curse. Symptoms: swollen stomach, like pregnant. Cure: ingredients unmentioned (pathe+?) chew and apply on belly and elsewhere. Siko ritual, tebha siwe, pour small young coconut water over to of head. Patient pays with money or chicken. (Bhulu wa’o unmentioned).
