Genre: Medicine/huru. Mama Nggei, a grandmother who lives by herself in a simple hut in kampong Mata Mere, was recorded by Pidhu Sophune 3 Jan -13 in the morning, using the loud AT Lavelier mic (keep volume low). Nggei talks about her 'huru sau' (huru dog), which does not have anything to do with dogs. (Compare with other 'huru sau' of other practitioners; a few use dog hairs in the cure.) This 'huru' causes stomach ache and pressure on the liver, like it is being pierced ('ruba'). The cure uses 'seku' (BI. (kencur), charcoal (burnt fire wood) (and areca betel lime). Applied and gently massaged from chest down and on the liver (on skin). She mentions 'bhabha' the second time she names the ingredients for the cure. Nggei's huru sau is hung in the plantation, by tying and hanging a piece of black fire wood in the tree. With a few neighbours sitting by listening, Mama "Heje" occasionally ading something.
