dc.descriptionI will present compelling linguistic reasons why landscape is a field worthy of in-depth exploration, and why it provides an effective and high-gain approach to language documentation. I will illustrate with examples from several endangered languages and also discuss GIS applications for data collection, analysis, and archiving.
