dc.description.abstractAs a prospective secondary education teacher, this research was concerned that comprehensive, long-term efforts had not been made to likewise assist the Hawaiian secondary school students. It was the purpose of this study to: 1) determine if any research had been conducted with the intent of bridging the cultural gap for the Hawaiians in the intermediate high school; and if so, what recommendations resulted, and 2) based upon the research findings, to develop hypothesis concerns what instructional methods/prgrams might be effective in teachign Hawaiian students in the secondary schools.
