Abstract: | Literature on micropropagation of ‘awa (Piper methysticum Forst. f.) is not available, partly because of proprietary restrictions and partly because of difficulty encountered in developing a protocol for the aseptic clonal increase process. The stumbling block in micropropagating ‘awa seems to lie in the very first step, eliminating bacteria and fungi from the explant. This publication provides information on a protocol of ‘awa micropropagation and instructions for procedures to produce ‘awa in aseptic culture. |
