The anthurium, Anthurium andraeanum Andre, a native of Colombia, was first brought to Hawai'i from London in 1889 by S. M. Damon. Today, after over 100 years of cultivation and hybridization, the Hawaiian anthurium is one of the islands' principal ornamental exports. This publication discusses standards, cultivars for Hawaii, propagation, culture, pest and disease control, and harvesting and postharvest handling.
