Abstract

Brief excerpt from interview: I have two primary motivations. The first one is I always think that it's important to connect with the place that we're and the place where the students are living and the place that we collectively call home. And second I think it's an effective way to have students really apply some of the concepts and themes and theories that we're learning in class to everyday experience... [Students should be keeping] one eye on the local and one eye on the global and then connecting those two.
