Abstract
The University of Hawaii at Manoa Library introduced its new automated system to the public on January 2, l991. The online catalog includes the entire holdings of the UH Manoa Collection, enabling the library to remove its card catalog. In addition to the public access catalog, UHCARL includes circulation, acquisitions, cataloging, and serials features. The CARL (Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries) system is used by over 60 public, private,and academic libraries in Colorado, Wyoming. Arizona, Maryland, Washington, and Hawaii.
