Kumu Hula Ikaika Dutro grew up on the Palama Settlement campus, participating in every program offered: football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, swimming, karate, ʻukulele and crafts. In addition to learning from his mother, he studied hula with Tony Conjugacion at the Performing Arts Program at Palama Settlement. His first job was a volunteer Junior Leader in Palama Settlement's Summer Enrichment Program.
