dc.description.abstract | The business world of today has become increasingly global with the rise of multinational corporations, vast enhancements in technology, transportation, and the interdependence of a global economy. With the increase in immigration, travel, and technology, diversity has become a major issue for multinational companies today. A global mindset has become a necessity for cross-cultural managers to survive in this world filled with different races, genders, ages, religions, and nationalities. This global mindset involves the ability to influence individuals, groups, and organizations of diverse backgrounds that have different intellectual, social, and psychological knowledge or intelligence from your own. Having a global mindset will help cross-cultural managers overcome cultural conflicts and improve the organizational culture of any multinational company. Due to the uniqueness and differences between countries, many companies fail or have difficulties in cross-cultural management. This project will highlight the importance of a global mindset in the countries of USA, South Korea, and Japan due to their growth, success and history. The synthesis of literature on the different cultural dimensions, leadership styles, and management styles will highlight the significance of a global mindset in this multicultural world. This work concludes that developing a global mindset will help cross- cultural managers gain a competitive advantage, understand and recognize the differences in behaviors, and improve their global managerial skills. | |
