dc.description.abstract Spiral, burrowing, reniform, root-knot, and lesion nematodes are found on banana roots in Hawaii. Heavy infestations can cause significant yield reductions. Root-knot nematodes were found on all farms surveyed, but a bacterial parasite of the pest was found at 1/4 of the sites. Management options are reviewed. Banana growers are encouraged not to neglect consideration of nematode management in their plantings. en_US
