Abstract

Description

A poem as a prayer reflecting on the energetics of hulihia—both original and cyclical—and the kuamoʻo hulihia, or the continuum of hulihia in our histories, ways of seeing that are illuminated by ancient chant text woven throughout. The piece also examines the inherent role that the kūlia energy has in hulihia cycles as the force that not only helps us but requires us to lift up out of our overturnings, to start anew, to return to our health—to our mauli ola, expressed through images of rain and forest.
