dc.description | When Brother Noland moved with his mother to Kukui Gardens in 1970, Palama Settlement became a mainstay of his youth. He participated in the Pākōlea basketball program and played in the game room and the swimming pool. Since then, Brother Noland actively gave back to the Kalihi-Pālama community. With his brother, Kumu Hula Tony Conjugacion, he led the Performing Arts Program at Palama Settlement. He organized the Molokaʻi Experience, a cultural interaction between kupuna on Molokaʻi and Pacific Islands youth from Palama Settlement and Lacey, Washington. He founded the annual Brother Noland Goodwill Basketball Tournament at Palama Settlement. In 2022, he co-chaired Palama Settlement's 125th anniversary celebration. | |
