Abstract

Description

Eliciting to see if UV is possible in Sundanese based off of reading from Chen&McDonnell (2019), which show its pervasivness in Indonesian languages. There is no UV in Sundanese because you can not use the 3SG clitic on verb without using by phrase, which is otherwise optional. Additionally, you cannot have non-pivot actor adjacent to verb. If used, it must be in by phrase. The -na seems to be used only for emphasis, highlighting the one who did the action if unknown to listener. May be evidence of previous UV .
