Description

The head of Artists-in-the-Schools remembers his early art and music experiences; education at UH and George Peabody College; and teaching music at public schools. He talks about the Fine Arts Project funded by Title III and the role of SFCA and Alfred Preis in its beginnings. Arts-in-the-Schools, Artmobile, and Artist-in-Residence programs are described, along with SFCA, Department of Education, and the National Endowment for the Arts relationships, and the impact of the programs on students and artists.
