Frank “Uncle Pocho” Perreira is a resident of Puʻuiki, Waialua, Oʻahu. He speaks of his parent’s immigration to the Hawaiian Islands to work on the plantations and their lives living within a close-knit community. Frank recounts stories of plantation life; raising animals and growing their own food to feed their families and to share with neighbors. In this interview, he recalls how he learned to hunt and fish with his father and how he now shares those experiences with his children. Frank also shares his many work experiences with the egg farm, with the plantation and in construction and how he now enjoys spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
