Abstract

Barygenys parvula, the seventh species of its genus, is described from the Adelbert Mountains. The genus is endemic to Papua New Guinea, and the new species is the first of its genus known from the north coast of New Guinea. Interspecific relationships among Barygenys are discussed, and a revised key to the species is presented.
