|Abstract:||Test panels assessed Hawaii consumers' and chefs' preferences for avocados. Several locally named cultivars were preferred over the commonly grown 'Sharwil', which is the main competitor of imported 'Hass' in Hawaii markets. Constraints, including the problem of seasonality, and opportunities in Hawaii's avocado industry are discussed.|
