EdD Consultancy Project

The consultancy project, which is one of two key projects that doctoral candidates of the EdD program are required to complete, provides students opportunities to apply these skills to a real-world problem of practice in a collaborative venture with schools and community organizations. The goal of this project is to provide our clients with a set of advisory recommendations based on a doctoral level inquiry into an agreed-upon problem of practice.

The EdD program sees research as an inquiry process that privileges both practitioner and academic knowledge. By working with community partners, we consider it a unique opportunity to co-construct new approaches to addressing educational challenges in our communities. The aim of the program is to develop leaders who are informed, critical and creative practitioner scholars, skilled in the application of knowledge to problems of practice. The EdD program values a reflective and respectful approach to inquiry, with generative, culturally sustaining approaches to scholarship and educational leadership.
