Abstract
This report was prepared by the Director of the Environmental Center to further the efforts of a Task Force that was appointed by the Policy Committee of the Center to investigate how the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) system might best be applied to the research programs of the University. We believe that it is essential that the University comply with legal requirements of the EIS system, and important both that the University serve as a model in applying the system to its research programs, and that the research programs are encumbered as little as possible in the application.
