Using Platform Structure to Organize and Stimulate Effective Discussions Boards

Abstract

In this paper, the author examines the link between six components of platform structure1 and the effectiveness of discussion boards, arguing that intelligent and creative use of these components can lead to more engaging and enlightening discussion threads, which in turn make for more effective discussion boards. Opportunities for further research are also offered.
