Abstract
“In a Day” is the author’s first serious attempt at writing poetry. The artist statement explores several themes in the poem, such as love, devotion and faithfulness; silence; and the innocence of childhood. Stylistic influences from Edgar Allen Poe and Emily Dickinson are also outlined. The reader of “In a Day” will find much thoughtful content in this free-verse creative work.
