dc.descriptionBryan Harry received a B.S. at Michigan State and an M.S. at Colorado State, both in wildlife management. After short term jobs as a botanical researcher, a refuge manager for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and tour guide, he settled in with the National Park Service (NPS) for over 50 years. He served as the former Regional Director of Alaska Region of National Park Service, former manager of National Wildlife Refuge, former chief naturalist at Yellowstone and Yosemite National Parks, and the former Yosemite Valley District Manager, among other positions. Harry came to Hawai‘i in 1971 as the Superintendent of the Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park and also served as the NPS Pacific Area Director until his retirement.
