Abstract
Hawaii's water quality standards, which were adopted in 1968, place restrictions on the type and amount of effluent that can be discharged into the coastal waters of the islands. Since the ocean is the final destination for wastewater in Hawaii, it is important that care be taken in the treatment process of our sewage.
