dc.description.abstract	The general purpose of this paper is to investigate, analyze, and describe in detail the various Chinese immigration forces to Hawaii between 1852-1898. Therefore, I will deal with Chinese immigration in two parts - the first will include the discussion of 1) the reasons why the Chinese were induced to come to Hawaii, 2) the arrival and importation of the Chinese immigrants by the Hawaiian Governments and Planters, 3) their political, social and economic impact upon the Hawaiian Society in the form of agitation of the anti-Chinese or contract laborer movements and restrictive and exclusion laws passed by the Hawaiian Government previous to the Organic Act. The latter part of my paper will deal with the “Chinese experience” in Hawaii.
