Abstract
The central question this study explores is how differences in Western and Chuukese cultural ideologies along with the social stigmas Chuukese communities contend with contribute to the issues they face in Oahu's public housing system. Through field research and interviews with seven community members, it was found that issues in the housing arose from the intersection of these factors rather than negative stereotypes held by Hawaii state residents against these communities.
