Abstract
Description
Paul Eguires was born in Honolulu in 1965 and was raised in Paumalū on his family's ranch. Paul's love and passion for livestock began in Paumalū while surrounded by animals. From an early age, the Eguires children were taught how to care for cattle, raise calves, keep the ranch fixed up, and milk cows before school. Paul attended Kahuku school from K-12, where he met his now wife and high school sweetheart, Verna Eguires. While in school, Paul was involved in Future Farmers of America and 4H. He worked within or around the industry and volunteered in like-minded community-based organizations. His training and education assisted him in his career as a dairyman, herdsman, rancher, and field superintendent. Outside of dairies, Paul has worked for Pine Ridge Farms for over 33 years, and he has worked alongside his wife on their family ranches: Double J Livestock and North Ranch Cattle Company. These life experiences drove Paul to start his ranch in Waialeʻe with his wife Verna Eguires.
