Abstract
Description
Genre: Medicine/huru: Weu Linggo, kampong Hoko, Cawalo, tells about her 'huru lole'. No curse. Symptoms: the victim will be afflicted with stomach pain that grows from below and reaches the chest. Cure: the ingredients are 'lole', chewed with the regular betel (sirih pinang) and lime. But the 'lole' is first prepared, mixed, with cotton and lime. Apply on belly. I understood her as she eats rice before the cure. The 'huru' here is first of all definitive of the symptom – it is not a curse that protects the fruits on her trees that then causes disease in the transgressor. Recorded with the AT Lavalier by Pidhu 20 Oct -15 at Weu's home. The recording level is far too high – turn down the volume! Portrait with the sign for 'huru bothe hate'.
