Abstract

Description

While systematic attention to linguistic variation increases the range of possible applications of language documentation, many “mainstream” approaches to variation are difficult to reconcile with the realities of language endangerment. This paper proposes several strategies for bridging this gap, integrating variation more fully into endangered language documentation, analysis, and revitalization. (session 1.1.4)
