Abstract
Description
Eddie Espiritu was born in Honolulu in 1953 as one of 3 children to parents Edward Sr. and Catherine Nani Espiritu. He moved to Kamalo, Moloka‘i when he was an early teenager where he attended Kilohana School before being accepted to Lahainaluna in 1967. During his time at Lahainaluna, Eddie participated in sports; baseball and track, and he also participated in numerous extracurriculars. Eddie’s work at Lahainaluna mainly consisted of the dairy where he tended to the cows. Eddie speaks about his experiences in the dorms, initiations that he went through, his time in the boarders chorus, and other Lahainaluna rituals and values that he gained during his time as a Lahainaluna boarding student. Eddie also reflects on the ways in which he is involved in the Lahainaluna Boarding Association now.
