dc.description.abstract | Emotions are primarily derived from the relationship between a human being and his environment. They are internally the mediators and directors, and externally the thermostat readings, the self-portrait. The state of one's environment is very probably the prime determinant of the emotional state of the individual. Indeed the environment, and in particular the social environment, is the context within which emotions are said to be "understood. n possess a glimpse of a person's environmental setting and one probably possesses vital information leading to a greater understanding of that person's emotional state. The reverse is also true. An emotion may be a vital aid towards the perception of an individualʻs environment. Musically conveyed emotions are certainly no exception. | |
