Abstract
Description
Dr. Athaulla A Rasheed, a scholar at the Australian National University and a former diplomat to the Maldives, explains that post-election shifts in Maldivian foreign policy from favoring Indian assistance to a more open approach that is inclusive of China has caused some anxiety for India and the United States but has had little bearing on robust US and Indian defense ties with the Maldives.
